Bio
Christian Eichlinger is a german musician, composer, pianist, singer and drummer. He also participates in many artistic projects.
Christian Eichlinger grew up in Augsburg, Bavaria/Germany.
Through his father he got in touch with the works of Ennio Morricone, the italian film-composer,
at the age of 4.
Inspired by Pete York´s „Super Drumming“ he started playing the drums when he was 7 years old, and to this day, drumming is an integral part of his work.
In 1995 he began playing the piano while teaching himself, which was a major step in his artistic development.
Always driven by the deep desire to „catch melodies“ he accomplished his first compsitions in 1999.
In 2002 he releases his debut album, entitled „Different Worlds“, a very special fusion of the two worlds of electronic and orchestral sounds.
Inspired by the whole genre of filmscore in general and different soundtracks, as well as by the composer David Foster, he increasingly wanted to create something new.
The main focus was the concurrence of old and new.
„Different Worlds II“ came out in 2004, and the trilogy-closing „Different Worlds 3“ was released in 2008.
2006, after numerous side-appearances in different bands, Christian Eichlinger became a permanent member of the band DANTE, excelling with his diverse drumming and also playing a big part in the band with his unique and rich orchestrations. He also contributes to the backing vocals. Besides that he has developed the whole internet presence of the band, thus mainly contributing to the appearance of the band.
In 2008, the DANTE debut „The Inner Circle“ was released and was an immediate success with critics worldwide.
The substantially darker „Saturnine“, released by the californian label ProgRock Records in 2010, was a great success and received outstanding reactions and reviews all over the world already in the first weeks after the release.
After the success with DANTE and multiple band-side-projects, Christian Eichlinger currently has his main focus on his 4th solo album „The Story Behind“ that is due for release in 2011.
Contrary to the first albums, this time the piano is the main element, emphasizing the focus on mood and atmosphere.
In his typical manner, Eichlinger combines the melodies, creating a thread that guides the listener through the different songs and compositions – a complete work of art in a very personal style.
For his works, the composer draws his biggest inspiration from the things within himself: personal experiences, thoughts and emotions are represented as well as everyday occurences, each one looked at from a different and very special view.
