| 2011-12-12 | Ein Gigant erwacht... | ||
 It´s been almost 50 years that the first issue of a then new Science Fiction series, tentatively entitled "Unternehmen Stardust", was published. The novel is about the first flight to the moon, under the command of a certain Perry Rhodan. During his many adventures and because of his many contacts to alien civilisations he gets the chance to end all human wars and show the the way up high to the stars....As to be expected with a story like that, he could not manage all that in only one issue – there have been weekly issues (almost 2600 so far!), written by a bunch of authors, and these adventures cover 3000 years of a future to be told.
In September 2011 fans and fantasy-lovers got together in the Weltcon in Mannheim, celebrating the 50th anniversary. There was one new thing though this time around: a Perry Rhodan short film contest, the "Stardust Award". Wolfgang Scheidle, a filmmaker and animation artist, and a friend for that matter!, was instantly excited about that and asked me to contribute the score. I agreed to do so, and focused primarily on creating a certain mood and on leading the listener towards sparkling alien worlds, worlds that also always demand the due respect and have a certain atmosphere of discomfort. In trying to capture that underlying tone I decided to center the composition on the piano. Of course the music always flows with the story, both tellingly and emotionally. It was a cool thing that a few of DANTE guys could be talked into participating with the spoken parts – a special mention goes out to singer Alexander Göhs who does a fabulous job as the narrator. And many thanks also to the rest of the DANTE crew, who opened their studio for the recording session. Because this project had a pretty tight schedule, the work for my own album could not proceed as I would have wished...and as a matter of fact right now my main focus is the music of my band DANTE – we are currently producing our 3rd studio album, and expectations are high with this one! - so unfortunately there is not much time for my own compositions... |

| At this point I´d like to inform you about some innovations on my website. First- the area SOUND&VISION put the items Solo, Band and Other in a new dress. These ones are itemized in sound, video and photo, which got further content. Especially the subitem video has a lot of more to offer than before! So you can find a lot of old and - especially new videos - out of concerts, visuals as well as a little compendium titled other with outtakes, making-ofs etc in the subitem Band. You see- a great step to usability. Try it! |

 There had been some months since my last update concerning my 4th
soloalbum...By now there are even 14 songs recorded by me on piano. Furthermore I work on the appendent orchestrations, collecting ideas, experimenting, letting my mind wonder..., during other compositions are nearly finished. So you see, everything assumes a definite form- in the truest sense of the word. By now all shootings concerning the artwork of the 4th album are nearly ready and done, too. Illustrated to the title of the album, a great artwork based on photography will be produced- including a complexe booklet to the 4th creation „The story behind“. To point the new course in music human readable- with the piano as a leading instrument- the concept for this had been created with Christina Bulka who is also answerable for the creative realisation. So „The story behind“is predominantly told in close-ups and portraits on naked skin in an especially created color, form and picture language- remember- there´s nothing like it´s used to be... Having said this- stay tuned and excited!(oder tight and tuned!) |

| 2010-06-08 | Working on my 4th Solo Album | ||
| Like I´ve told you before, the work on the first seven Songs of my 4th soloalbum are finished. At this time I´m working on four new compositons at the same time and I have realized that I like it very much to switch between the individual songs. The result is a completely different way to work, that absolutly agrees with me and that I´d like to continue. Furthermore I work on a MacBook Pro since a few months. This makes it possible for me to work everywhere on my songs- no matter where I am right at that moment. It is very nice, not beeing solely bound on a studio and in this way I can take something of the particular locality´s atmosphere with me to slip it in my compositions. |
